Ytasha Womack, writer of Afrofutrism: The World of Black Sci Fi and Fantasy Culture posits
that the black person's ability to fantasize in a ‘post colonial’ context is inherently
afrofuturistic, as this is exactly what colonialism sought to destroy. Therefore, I used a
colorful galaxy image to depict the infinite nature of the black imaginary.
Imposed on that in the dimly lit line map of the U2 station positioned as wings to enable
three black queer bodies, cis, non binary and trans, take flight.
The birds depicted in the image are known for expressing queerness and are Chilean
Flamingos and King Penguins. I love that birds are flock animals, they fly, swim, or land
travel together in formation, extra sensitive to each other's movements
The Performance or Spatial Activation
The billboard is present in Nollendorfplatz for one month in July. One day each week in
July for three hours, 3 black dark skinned queer performers will enter the station and take part in gestures of love, intimacy, and care (including joy).

Blounts Plakat, eine visuelle Collage aus wiederverwendeten Bildern, soll Menschen auf ihrem täglichen Weg zur Arbeit dazu ermutigen, sich auf Schwarze queere Liebe, Sanftheit und Fürsorge zu besinnen.
Es soll das Fantasieren und Imaginieren in Räumen fördern, die normalerweise für Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Identitäten strukturell unzugänglich oder gewalttätig sind.
Den ganzen Juli über finden auf dem U-Bhf Nollendorfplatz subtile, dauerhafte Live-Aktivierungen von Liebe und Fürsorge zwischen zwei oder mehr Schwarzen queeren Körpern statt.
"Dies ist kein Spektakel. Dies stellt dar, dass wir trotz der Politik, die uns auslöschen will, des weltweiten zerstörerischen Hasses der weißen Vorherrschaft, trotz der Propaganda die falsche Narrative über uns verbreiten soll, die zu unserer Beseitigung führen, immer noch da sind und verstehen, einander zu lieben und füreinander zu sorgen."
